Xyron with Deep Red Stamps

Hello all. Boy am I excited to share my project with you. Xyron teamed up with Deep Red Stamps this week.

I chose the Hibiscus and Cupcake Border rubber stamps. When I received my order, to my pleasant surprise, they added in a Boho Longhorn stamp. I took some time to think of if I was going to use all three stamps for my project or just focus on one. However, they are all great stamps so I had to use them all.
Since they don't cohesively really go together, I made three different projects. And just because I like to challenge myself, I threw in a wood burning gun and some wooden tags into the mix and hoped for the best.
To start with, I stamped each image onto a wooden tag while my burning tool heated up.

After the ink dried, I got to burning. You can see the difference between ink and burn in images 2 and 3 below.
Next I grabbed some of my acrylic paints and got to painting

I slowly built up the layers to what I wanted on each tag. I just rotated each tag until it was dry and continued painting on the other ones while waiting.
The Boho Longhorn skull was the last one I painted and it turned out to be my most favorite one. Simple mixed with the shaded burnt wood.

Set #1:

After I got all the tags burnt and painted, I started on the boxes and cards that the tags would go on. (I used my eBrush to bring in color around the edges of the succulent in box 1 and the pedals on box 2)
Once I had the card base and pieces cut out, I ran the pieces through the Xyron Creative Station®
Next I stamped each stamp onto paper tags for the cards. I grabbed my Derwent Watercolor pencils to color each image.
Once the image is colored, simply run a small brush with a bit of water over it and it turns it into more of a water colored image.

Final Projects:

Set # 2

Using the Xyron Mega Runner®  made making these boxes a quick and easy task. I didn't have to wait for glue or anything to dry.
Same goes for the Xyron Creative Station®. Using these adhesive stations allows me to work much faster.

Set #3:

This set was probably the easiest. Perhaps because I had all the experience from the first two, who knows! ;)

I assembled the cupcake on the backing paper after running it through the Xyron Creative Station® until I was ready to adhere it to the top of the box.

Doggy Mother's Day Cards

I'm on a mother's day card request roll. For these two cards, I was asked to make two cards that have a yellow lab, black poodle, and a corgi dog on them. After some planning I decided the stepped flap card would do the best job. I couldn't find any that were 5x7 so I made my own and welded each dog on each layer.
The only real special treatment I did for this card was using my Sizzix Big Shot to emboss dog prints into the paper. I wanted the rest of it to be clean and uncomplicated.

Religious Mother's Day cards

I had a request for two religious Mother's Day cards, one for a mother and one for a grandmother. I decided to make four cards out of this 'Flower Cards' set from Bird's Cards.
I decided that the Dear Jane stack from DCWVinc. would be excellent for this theme of card.
I took a little extra time to incorporate more color into the flowers/leaves to bring a bit more dimension to my version.

Panda Birthday

I had a request for a panda themed birthday card. I have had this panda bookmark file in my library from the Silhouette Store for a long time. I felt it would be a perfect addition to this card simply because the inside of this card is the cutest of the entire thing I think.

I started with the base card file from Lori Whitlock's A2 birthday step card file. I removed the birthday elements from this file and added bamboo, leaves, and the panda.
Each leaf is highlighted with a sharpie marker using my eBrush from Craftwell

Castle Tower turned into...

While thinking about my next project for SVG Attic, a certain vision popped into my mind. I got on SnapDragon Snippets website to see if I could find what I wanted to do. After not finding it, I remembered that I have had the Castle Tower 3D Box file in my library for a year and haven't used it.
Original file

With a few modifications to the top of it, I was able to make my vision happen. It took me about 2 full days to design and execute it all. Mainly because I kept changing my mind about the roof.

Tower portion:

Rot Iron Fence:
Just a few skinny rectangles, circles, and a pentagon for the fence topper was all it took to make the fence. I welded six fences to a hexagon with a smaller hexagon in the middle to accommodate the top tower room to allow a light in it.

Roof:
Keeping with the hexagon theme of the tower, I decided to do a hexagon shaped roof. I couldn't find any in my library so I set out to weld a six triangles together and play around with it until I got what I envisioned.
Final roof shape after welding and shaping
For the tower portion itself, I wanted to float in some slight color. The best way for this was with a gray sharpie and the Craftwell eBrush. I used Bazzill cardstock for this project because it's a really sturdy product and I didn't have to double up on walls or anything to hold its shape.

After floating in a bit of color detail, I ran the tower walls, base, and steps I created through my Sizzix Big Shot with a Darice brick embossing folder

Next, for the tower top I wanted to have the clear plastic just for extra detail. The best way I have found to adhere the plastic to paper is by using my Xyron Creative Station Lite® .

For the steps, I simply took some rectangle boxes I had in my library, downsized them to what I needed, ran them through my Big Shot for the embossing, and dry brushed some ink on them to make the steps look aged.

Final Product:
 Turn the light on...

These little lanterns are from the SVG Winter Wishes set. The lantern is much much larger than these little tykes. They are about the size of the tip of a pencil on this lighthouse.

I intentionally did not adhere the top to the tower so I had easy access to the tea light.
