Hello all! Today I bring you a tutorial and an awesome little gift box using Rinea Foil. When I think Christmas, I think beautiful trees, lights, and gifts for others. I decided to combine that together with a little surprise inside of the gift box!

A New Year....already!

Raise of hands, how many of you cannot believe it's another new year already?! Christmas has crept right up and I feel completely unprepared for what 2017 will bring us!

Today I bring you a New Years shaker card. I used The Cutting Cafe's 'Holiday Big Words Printable Stamps' file for the New Years wording on my card.

There's something about adding text to a project that adds more layers and I just love it!

Cowboy Christmas Card

For this card, I was told the recipients raise horses, therefore the customer wanted a western type card. I suggested a horse drawn carriage and the customer said that would be perfect cause the recipients do sleigh rides for people during the winter.

I couldn't just put a horse drawn carriage on a card and not have something move on it. Before I knew it, I combined several types of cards into one.

At first sight, it looks like a normal shadowbox card. Sugar Tip: To make the snowy night sky, I watered down some of my Aleene's original tacky glue, took a fan brush and flicked the watered down glue onto the blue background. Then I sprinkled it with some glitter and let it dry.
Open it up and pop it up, turns it into an easel card
Pull on the tab and it turns it into a movement card
The moon is a vellum so in the right light, it lights up as well!

JGW Nutcracker Patrol

Today I bring you a Nutcracker solider from the JGW Nutcracker Patrol file.

Thinking back on a Christmas I faintly remember as a child, we were at a family friends house. She had a white baby grand piano and her house was decorated so magnificently that I for one reason or another always remembered her set of Nutcrackers!

So I thought I would make one! I also decided to not do a whole scene because I wanted the focus to be on all of his details.
This guy stands about 14 inches tall. Under his beard is several gold buttons and an undershirt.
What I love most about this soldier is that there is detail no matter which way he is turned.
There is opportunity to accent each piece as wanted.

I happened to have these button brads on hand which were great to use in the soldiers cuff links, tail, hat, and boots.

I wanted to keep the sword realistic so I kept it in the gold scheme and added two gold brads to accent it.
Even down to his hat where it is optional to put a chain. I didn't have a chain on hand, but I did have this gold ribbon that I felt was fitting.

The back of the soldier has one of my favorite pieces.
The tail on this guy. I don't know why, but it is my favorite part!

The little box that jets out from his back is the handle of a Nutcracker.
The tassels on his boots are just a little something I added to match the tassels on his shoulders.

A peek from inside out!

Today I bring you a combined card. This card is a shaker card, but also a peek a boo card. I have a tutorial for the peek a boo card here: http://sugarbeancards.blogspot.com/2016/08/peek-boo-card-tutorial.html and yes, I did have to consult it a few times for this one!

Moving on. I received an order from a customer who knew that the recipient loves cardinals. So she gave me free range of the card design, as long as it had a cardinal or two.

The concept behind this card is often referred to as a 'window card'. The outer face is the inside of a living room looking out to the woods.

I didn't have a file for wainscoting so I had to make my own. Which looks difficult, but actually it was fairly easy compared to the rest of the card!

Through the window (which is the shaker portion full of "snow"), the male cardinal can be seen.
Open the card all of the way, and the female appears! As well as the siding of the house.
I used my eBrush to float color in on both the male and female birds.

The very back portion displays a greeting and space for a hand written message.

Happy Birthday Jodi!

Today a few of us I-team members for SVG Attic would like to wish Jodi a very happy happy birthday with cards we have made and sent to her!

For my card, I used the cupcake card from the Take the Cake file!
I added the Happy Birthday portion from the I-beam, knowing I was going to male this so I wanted it as flat as I could get it!

And pop it open to reveal the message!

Santa's Milk and Cookies

Hello all! Today I bring you a fun spin on the traditional plate of cookies and cup of milk for Santa.

Now if your little ones are anything like mine, they can easily sneak into something and grab a little treat for themselves! To secure Santa's milk and cookies this year, I decided to do a treat box from The Cutting Cafe.

I have had this little milk bottle that I got at Michael's for a few dollars last year. I washed off the image that it had on it and decided to apply my own with vinyl to match the treat box!

After all, the big man deserves his own little to go jug of ice cold milk!

Now, the Santa that we know prefers Cherry Cordials to any cookie. Which works out well because I was able to keep them in their wrapper and tied tight in the treat box!

Mix them together, and Santa will have a nice refreshing treat of ice cold milk and a few chocolaty cherry treats!
